Turn your photos and videos into secure, signed visual evidence

BETA WARNING: This is an early release and has not been fully audited technically or tested in court or other legal proceedings.ProofMode is light, minimal "reboot" of our full encrypted, verified secure camera app, CameraV (https://guardianproject.info/apps/camerav). Our hope was to create a lightweight, almost invisible utility, that you can run all of the time on your phone, that automatically extra digital proof data to all photos and videos you take. This data can then be easily shared through a "Share Proof" share action, to anyone you choose.ProofMode is an open-source project: https://github.com/guardianproject/proofmodeGoals* Run all of the time in the background without noticeable battery, storage or network impact* Provide a no-setup-required, automatic new user experience that works without requiring training* Use strong cryptography for strong identity and verification features, but not encryption* Produce "proof" data formats that can be easily parse, imported by existing tools (CSV)* Do not modify the original media files; all proof metadata storied in separate file* Support both full "proof" data generation, as well as more simple sha1/sha256 hash and PGP signature of media files* Do not require a persistent identity or account generationContributions* Some icons were used under the APL 2.0 license from the Google Material Design Icon library: https://material.io/icons/* The App Intro library is used under the APL 2.0 license: https://github.com/paolorotolo/AppIntro* Spongy Castle uses the same adaptation of the MIT X11 License as Bouncy Castle.: https://rtyley.github.io/spongycastle/- major improvements to proof generation reliability- fix for mediafile HASH generation to wait until Android finishes processing media files (fix for hash not matching previously)- new proofmode ZIP format sharing with public key and Opentimestamps OTC file included for easier verification- better integration with Signal sharing and other apps- new translations to new languages!

Doesn't work at all, but looks nice. I've had it on my phone for months and months, but it's never been able to generate any proofs. Share pic, no proof exists, press generate proof, press basic or robust (didn't matter), spins for over 30min and still nothing. I've tried multiple times over the past several months with different pictures and everything. Kept it on the phone hoping an update would eventually make it work, but nope. S20 Ultra, Android 11 & tried on newest update of Android 12.

I have yet to be able to use this application but I am very excited about using it because I think that simply that idea about what it does in the functions that is it does in the library instead of hold are so valuable

Easy to use and no ad.s. "Visuals" ha-ha, two stars for the concept attempt (it almost gives the public AmericA bar association worthy camera evidence - something like this could make Calif. Prop. 65 a realLaw) . It is really where it needs to be: unfunctional (it sits in the background without generating proof until expostfacto tapped) - whilst Manual Camera app reports camera2 NO raw data camera support.

Doesn't seem to work on Galaxy S9+. I keep getting the "No proof exists yet. Try again in one minute" error when I try to ShareProof a regular pic from Gallery. Any ideas?

Can't send Pic to proof mode. Just a circle running around on a blank screen forever.

It should enable protonmail to send proof. Could u plz tell me why it is not giving an option to send thru protonmail?

Super , thanks

Great for when you need to prove when and where a photo was taken, as I don't store location data in photos by default.
